The Gypsy Life

There's a kind of restlessness that brews in me that starts to feel like nails on a chalkboard, and when that happens, I know it's time to go.

So South America here I come.

Travel is a luxury. I know that. So I hope to do more than snap landmarks with my new fancy Olympus P2 or hole myself up at the Ritz or tick off a list of "must see's." Travel for me is a time to shake up the external and the internal so I can discover new landscapes, view myself and other people in a new light, challenge my ideas of comfort, and drink good wine. I believe South America will be the perfect place for this.

My dear friend Chrissie may not hear nails on the chalkboard, but she does have the desperate need to escape the winters of London, so she too is ready to GO!

We will be doing our Thelma et Louise across the southern continent. We did that years ago in Southestern Utah and we survived, so I suspect this will be equally successful, sans the camping in the snow.

Starting 1 Feb we will be living in Buenos Aires, learning Spanish, getting lost and laughing until the tears start.

Thank you to dear friends, family, and work colleagues who appease the gypsy in me. I am so grateful for your support. Who knows, maybe I'll learn to tango in an outfit like Cher's?

Stay tuned...
Adios amigos y amigas

Me, I just keep pretending she is in healdsburg for a long weekend. That ought to hold me 'til valentine's day. After that I will have to adopt a new delusional view. eej
